Working with management to achieve milestones, Proteus will help guide the company with financial strategies, business development and operational solutions.

At a high level, the key considerations in any biotechnology investment are:

• The nature of the company’s product, its science/technology and its therapeutic application,
• The market opportunities (size, competition, scale, time)
• The regulatory, ethical and IP landscape. Proteus will evaluate your business plan and expects you to address at least the following questions in detail:
• What are the company basics (location, founders, number of employees, products, technology)?
• What is the scientific basis for its technology?
• Why is this approach better than the competition (other scientific approaches, current standard of care, future possible technologies)?
• What is/are the targeted therapeutic application(s)?
• Does the company already have a clear regulatory strategy to go through FDA and a pathway for successful reimbursement?
• What is the size of the market for the company's particular product(s)?
• What is the business model and why do you believe it will succeed?
• What are the risks (scientific, medical, commercial)?
• What is the financial condition (cash, revenue, capital structure)
• What is the company’s intellectual property position?
• How do you evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your team?
