J. Ward Hills, Ph.D.
![]() Based in the UK, Dr. Hills has over 15 years' experience in technology development and commercialization. He is the CEO of Albion Innovations, a leading UK biotechnology consulting firm providing business development and due diligence services. While an Adjunct Professor at Washington State University, Ward established a commercial laboratory developing instrumentation for the Department of Energy. He gained multinational business development and financing experience in Japan, Russia, Europe, and the United States. Albion advises several regional UK governments on investment strategies for nanotechnology and RM. Currently, Albion is working with Stem Cell Sciences, Trubina, and the Biosystems Informatics Institute to establish the Proteomics Analysis Facility, a $30 million public-private partnership in computational and cell-based toxicology approaches. Dr. Hills also sits on the Steering Committee for the East of England Stem Cell Network, an international network advancing applications of cell-based therapies organized with the National Health Service, Cambridge University, the UK Stem Cell Bank and the UK Department of Trade and Industry. He provides an important on-the-ground perspective of developments in regenerative medicine in the UK and Europe. Dr. Hills earned his BS in Chemistry from Bradley University, and his MS and PhD in Analytic Chemistry from Washington State University. He received his MBA from Nijenrode University-Breukelen-The Netherlands. |
